Prokofjev’s ballet is on in the Budapest Opera House for 31 years by now, choreographed by László Seregi.
Seregi and his ensemble had worldwide success by this ballet. The newly reconstructed Amsterdam Opera House was opened by this performance. At the end of the ballet, the Queen, disregarding the protocol, -instead of a handshake- embraced Seregi and said: “Look, there are tears in my eyes. Do you know when I cried the last time in a theatre? Thank you so much”.
